Richard Ainsworth, the Managing Director is a passionate and staunch advocate of British manufacturing. So much so that within the local manufacturing and business community, he is seen as an innovator. His most recent initiatives include launching The Rodhus Gallery, a tangible celebration of the power, strength and innovation that is symbolic of British manufacturing. Richard has also launched a business networking programme where local architects, other specifiers and local business people can network informally, enjoy nice food and drink and listen to engaging speakers.
Running alongside these initiatives at Horsell Electrics is the ‘Lean’ programme, where change is gathering pace in the 19,000 square-foot manufacturing plant. Working closely with the manufacturing advisory service (MAS) Horsell Electrics are taking the Lean approach to every single one of their processes. This commitment to improvement and change, coupled with a significant investment in new plant and machinery has enabled the business to increase manufacturing capability. Bespoke lighting fittings can now be designed and produced within a shorter time frame than previously.
Never has the subject of buying local, traceable and environmentally responsible products received more scrutiny from the media and businesses alike than now. Where organisations may have previously been inclined to buy their lighting fittings from abroad, many are now switching to local manufacturers like Horsell Electrics, with many obvious benefits.
Using regular client feedback as a reliable indicator, the quality of UK made bespoke lighting fittings tends to be superior to the quality of cheaper foreign imports. But should anything go wrong with the fittings provided by a UK Company such as Horsell Electrics, it's much easier to pick up the phone and request an on-site visit than it is to find the person that is responsible overseas
Traceability is high on the list of specifier requirements too with many organisations now turning their backs on cheaper foreign imports because they don't know how they were made, who they were made by and where the materials originated from
High-end specifiers including architects, chartered surveyors and quantity surveyors are increasingly driven by the quality requirements of the project and the backup service that a local supplier can provide than they are on shaving the budget using an overseas supplier. A recent White Paper produced by Horsell electrics substantiates this
There has never been a better time to buy from a UK-based bespoke lighting manufacturer.
